Laptops donation

October 22, 2018

Fifteen of Terrain NRM’s pre-loved laptops will help young people in need to access education.

Terrain has donated the laptops to Mission Australia, a community organisation that supports families and helps homeless people of all ages find housing and get a ‘leg-up’ in life.

Mission Australia’s Mark Jentz said the computers would be used in community programs from Cairns to Mornington Island.

“They will help people who were homeless but have recently been housed and are attending TAFE, and they’ll help children in our Out of Community Care Residential program with their study,’’ he said.

“This is our second donation from Terrain NRM – laptops given to us several years ago also went to Hambledon House Community Centre to set-up a computer station for the general public.

“We’re grateful because our funds are usually spent on more basic needs like beds, fridges and other furniture.”

Terrain NRM CEO Carole Sweatman said the not-for-profit natural resource management organisation was pleased to be in a position from time to time to contribute in this way to the broader community.
