NRM NETWORK

nrmrq-mapTerrain NRM is part of a unique network of natural resource management bodies across Australia, each deeply embedded in local communities and ecosystems.

Managing the environment is really about managing people – that’s what makes NRM different. We work closely with communities and industry because solutions to environmental problems are about changing people.

There are 54 regional NRM organisations across Australia with the regions determined by river catchment boundary lines. In Queenland there are 12 independent not for profit NRM bodies that cover the state from the Great Barrier Reef coastline to our rainforests and rangelands. As locals, we bring a deep understanding of our landscapes and trusted relationships to every project, allowing us to create swift tailored solutions to environmental challenges.

We are all delivering projects related to:

  • Empowering sustainable land management: Working with farmers and landholders to protect and restore soil and ecosystems.
  • Conserving nature (biodiversity)
  • Protecting and restoring waterways and water quality
  • Building climate resilience
  • Rapid local response to natural disasters

Across Queensland, Terrain NRM and our partners, have over 300 people embedded in rural communities ready to respond to environmental challenges.
