WORKING WITH PURPOSE

Globally there is no bigger cause to work for right now than protecting and increasing the resilience of the environment, and communities that are reliant upon it. We have the privilege of working in one of the world’s most biologically diverse regions – the only place in the world with two interconnected World Heritage Areas, the Wet Tropics Forests and the Great Barrier Reef.

We need talented people with diverse skills, knowledge and experiences who love working with a broad range of partners.

Terrain NRM has been recognised as one of the best workplaces in Australia and New Zealand by the Australian Financial Review, and when people ask what it’s like to work here, you’ll usually hear the same themes. Find out more about working for Terrain NRM

3. Emerging Leader on our Board of Directors

Terrain NRM started its Emerging Leader Program in 2018 to create opportunities for young leaders in the Wet Tropics region and to bring youth perspectives into board-level decision-making. Through the program, we invite aspiring directors to join the organisation’s board in a two-way learning dynamic over a 12-month fixed term designed to benefit both parties. There is a strong focus on diversity. Emerging Leaders have so far represented a wide range of sectors including business, tourism, agriculture, conservation and local government. One thing that all past Emerging Leaders have had in common is a desire to understand the inner workings of a skills-based board.
