Planning for biodiversity adaptation
OCTOBER 2025
The Wet Tropics has amazing biodiversity but is also highly vulnerable to climate hazards like cyclones, floods and heatwaves.
This region has been chosen for a new project to help us all to make plans for biodiversity adaption.
It will draw on local knowledge and spatial mapping, assess the work that’s already happening here and identify priority actions and areas.
The first step is an online webinar to introduce the project, get feedback and outline participation opportunities.

This project is a James Cook and Griffith Universities partnership with support from the Wet Tropics Management Authority and Terrain NRM. It’s funded through the Australian Government under the National Environmental Science Program.
